PROGRAM INFORMATION
This course consists of two full and three half days of didactic lectures, designed to keep the surgeon abreast of the rapid changes occurring in the areas of operative laparoscopy, endoscopy and open surgical techniques.
Course Objectives
Minimally invasive surgery is an increasingly complex field of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and procedures that requires continual education over the course of a surgeon’s career. The Rocky Mountain Surgeon’s Consortium sets to achieve the following objectives:
- Provide updates on new and evolving laparoscopic, endoscopic, and open surgical techniques, as well as non-surgical cancer treatment modalities
- Provide the data and evidence on which advances in laparoscopic, endoscopic, and open surgical principals are based
- Provide a knowledge base and instruction to facilitate the use of laparoscopic and open instruments, and the evidence-based clinical applications of these devices in medicine
At the conclusion of the conference, the participant should be able to apply this knowledge and implement the presented changes in his or her clinical practice.
Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Colorado Medical Society through joint sponsorship of Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital and Rocky Mountain Surgeons Consortium.
Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital is accredited by the Colorado Medical Society to provide continuing medical education to physicians.
Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
